Repeal the North Carolina Law that Promotes Discrimination against Transgender and non-conforming communities!

(Chapel Hill, NC) Latinos in the Deep South, a regional program of the Latino Commission on AIDS opposes the North Carolina Generally Assembly's passage of House Bill 2 (HB2). Under the new rules local governments are prohibited from passing nondiscrimination ordinances that include the protection of Transgender and non-conforming communities. Furthermore, it disempowers local residents from protecting the health and safety of their community as they see fit. We call for a repeal of HB2 on the basis that it systematically promotes the discrimination of Transgender and non-conforming communities.

¡Revoca la Ley de Carolina del Norte que promueve la discriminación contra comunidades transgénero y no conforme!

(Chapel Hill, Carolina del Norte) Latinos en el Sur, un programa regional de la Comisión Latina sobre el SIDA se opone al paso de la HB 2 por la Asamblea General de Carolina del Norte. Bajo las nuevas reglas gobiernos locales están prohibidos pasar ordenanzas de anti discriminación que incluyen comunidades transgénero y no conforme. Por otra parte, se debilita el poder de residentes locales a proteger la salud y la seguridad de sus comunidades como mejor les parezca. Llamamos para la derogación de HB2 sobre la base que sistemáticamente promueve la discriminación de las contra comunidades transgénero y no conforme.
